Year 6 Fastrain Extended Program
(Creative Writing, English, Maths, Science)
Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, Maths & Lateral Thinking with stimulating Science experiments.
- 3.5 hour lessons weekly
- 10 weeks per term - Term 1: Week 1 – 7 is the Year 6 Fastrain Extended Program. Term 1: Week 8 – 10 the Headstart High School Program commences.

This course will enable students to:
- Prepare for High School English, Maths and Science
- Improve their genre and essay writing skills
- Develop advanced comprehension and vocabulary skills
- Develop interview techniques to assist in applications for private schools, scholarships and life
- Headstart to Year 7 mathematics curriculum; covering topics such as algebra, geometry and logic
- Develop and extend their lateral thinking skills
- Develop and extend their complex problem solving skills
- Develop and extend their reasoning and logical exercises
- Develop hands on practical skills to conduct high school Science experiments and create working models

English, Maths and General Ability Launchpad

- Intensive academic enrichment for future examination success
- Success in English requires the mastery of a range of grammar, reading, comprehension and language skills. This course provides essential exposure to fundamental skills and concept.

Chess
(Beginners/Intermediate)

- 1 hour lessons weekly
- 10 weeks per term
- Children will be put in small groups based on their knowledge and skill in chess. They will receive a group lesson (which will differ depending on their ability), and will then be given time to practice against other children in the chess club.
